Under OJK Regulation No. 3/2024, OJK introduced the Regulatory Sandbox as a structured framework to assess, oversee, and facilitate innovation in the financial services sector. As of August 2025, eight participants have been accepted into the sandbox process, while OJK has recorded a total of 30 Financial Services Technology Innovations.

As of August 2025, OJK has licensed 25 entities in the crypto-assets ecosystem, including exchanges, clearinghouses, custodians, and crypto asset traders, while processing licenses for ten more traders.

OJK has also conducted outreach and technical guidance to ensure compliance with new regulations. To enhance coordination and streamline document completion post-transition, OJK and Bappebti have formed a working group that will remain active until January 2026.
